Diya Bubber

Diya Bubber, a student at Woodstock School, Mussoorie, India, graduating in 2025, is a multifaceted talent and dedicated community contributor. She collaborates with Missiondeep School, conducting pop music masterclasses and fundraising through Keto to equip the NGO school with musical instruments and functional musical spaces.

Diya's commitment to inclusivity is evident through her work with differently-abled students at Woodstock School. Her musical talent was showcased when she sang at The Lawrence School, Sanawar memorial during COVID-19 in 2020, and she is a key member of the advanced school choir.

In the arts, Diya was the assistant director for the student musical "West Side Story" in 2023 and is the director of "Mamma Mia" (2023-2025). She also serves as the editor of the school yearbook (2023-2025), dorm president (2021-2022), and class governor (2023-2024).

As an athlete, Diya captained the senior basketball team to multiple victories, including first place at the Kodaikanal, Mussoorie, and Guru Nanak Centenary School tournaments in 2022.

Academically and artistically talented, she earned the Sally Stoddard Literature Competition's first honourable mention in 2024, the Visual Arts Award in 2023, the School Choir Award in 2022 and won the Jimmy Casinath portfolio award for creative writing, 2024.

Where it all started

Diya’s musical journey began when she picked up her uncle’s old guitar, a beloved instrument with many stories of its own. Self-taught on the piano, she explores a range of music including Pop and Indie genres. Diya holds an ABRSM Classical Guitar Grade 6 certification, achieved high scores in ABRSM guitar (2018), and is currently preparing for ABRSM Musical Theory Grade 5 and Vocal Grade 6. Her diverse accomplishments make her a standout student at Woodstock School.

Music

Diya’s live performances and releases reflect her personal journey, and her music can be found on popular streaming platforms including Spotify, Apple Music, and Amazon Music. She has actively participated in every theatre production at Woodstock since she joined, serving as the assistant director for the student musical “West Side Story” in 2023 and the director of “Mamma Mia” (2023-2025).

Diya's grit and determination is evident as, at the age of 9, she was selected to represent the state of Punjab in Rhythmic Gymnastics in the Nationals held at Mumbai.

Mission Music

Guided by the philosophy that music is a universal language that transcends boundaries and disparity, Diya believes in its power to connect individuals in a way no other medium can. Family values, collaboration, and social commitment define her engagement with the wider community. This commitment led to the creation of Mission Music in 2021, aimed at spreading joy through music to students of underserved communities.

As a student of the International Baccalaureate Diploma, Diya serves as the editor of the school yearbook (2023-2025), dorm president (2021-2022), and class governor (2023-2024).
